20 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”
2 Chronicles 20:20
In 1 Kings 17:9, God commanded the widow to give to Elijah, but in verse 15 we read that she did according to the word of Elijah. The Bible says to believe in the Lord your God, so that you might be established. So God is first; but then, it also says to believe His prophets and you shall prosper.
When I talk of God’s prophets, I’m talking about your preachers, your pastors, your teachers. Believe them and you will prosper. A lot of people are always waiting for God to tell them what to do. God has told you things many times through His prophets, but you still haven’t done any and that is why you are not prospering.
Let me state here that my big assumption is that you do not have a hireling as a pastor. A hireling is someone who is not really a shepherd (John 10:11-13). I’m not talking about counterfeits. There are preachers that are poachers, who are taking advantage of the people. I’m not denying that.
As at the time of the first print of this book, you have never seen a counterfeit 5,000 Naira note. Do you know why? There is no original 5,000 Naira note to copy! So we will not let the counterfeit stop us from preaching the undiluted Word of God. The first thing you should look out for in every man of God is integrity. If you have such a person, then listen to him or her and prosper.
Confession:
Father, I will put Your Word first and I will be established. I will also look out for Your prophets who have integrity. I will listen to them and I will prosper.
