19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.
2 Peter 1:19 (KJV)
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,
21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:20-21
The Bible is not just a properly written piece of literature that has withstood the test of time. It is a word of prophecy and therefore a prophetic document. Prophecies are meant to come to pass. Anything you read from the Word of God, about you as a child of God, is God’s prophecy for you. When you believe it and speak it, it will happen just like God’s Word says it will happen.
Some Christians have the “Que sera sera, whatever will be, will be,” approach to their future. They are always falling prey to false prophets, “prayer houses” and soothsayers in their search for information on what the future holds for them. Friend, God’s Word is a prophetic word for you. You don’t have any business going to any of such places or even to a witchdoctor or to someone with a crystal ball, saying, “Tell me, is my future good? Will I have good luck?” Long before you showed up, God said concerning you, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). Another translation says, “To give you an enviable future.”
You’ve got a future. The Scripture says that His Word is a “more sure” word about your future than the word of the doctor, the word of the economic experts, the word of your educational qualification, or the word of your social status. That Word of prophecy has told you that you have a future that is an enviable one. You can hold on to His Word and even use it to “wage a good warfare” (1 Timothy 1:18) against contrary circumstances you may be facing. God Almighty, the Creator of the universe has documented things in His Word as personal prophecies for you. Everything that concerns you in His Word is good and you can walk with them.
Confession:
The prophecies of God’s Word spoken over me are sure and they have given me a good future.
