2 Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:2
“Access” means to draw near, to approach, admission. God has done everything for us. Before the foundation of the world He gave us His grace and we had no part to play. Faith is the role I have to play to enjoy all that God has in store for me. The grace of God is supernatural, therefore can only be accessed supernaturally. You cannot access the grace of God by your intelligence quotient (IQ).
By virtue of the new birth, you are standing “positionally” in the grace of God in all areas of your life. That is your benefit as a believer. However, if you don’t seem to be enjoying the results of the grace of God, it is because you haven’t quite picked up the key to access His grace, which is faith.
Sometimes when you hear a lot of Christians giving testimonies about the things that God has done in their lives, they so esteem their faith, that it looks like God had no part to play in it. You hear things like: “Oh, brethren if you see what happened to me. In fact, the problem was so bad, but I just battled the Devil and faced him squarely. I became a mighty man of faith and the Devil was afraid of me, Hallelujah.” They fail to see that their faith was given to them by God. Now you may be a spiritual faith giant, but always remember that your faith accesses His grace.
Confession:
I have access by faith into the grace of God. All I need to access God’s grace has been given to me by God.
