A SHOT OF JESUS

10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

1 Corinthians 15:10

When Jesus came into my life, some people did not understand. They thought I was trying to show them up. They said, “Why are you so involved”? “Why are you carrying this thing on your head?” I really did not care who understood me or who thought my motives were wrong. All I knew was that this Man Jesus had changed my life. If I missed His Word during a service, I would “shake” like a man who was on cocaine until I could get a tape of the message. If the church department I worked in was closed, I would come into church to find what I could do with my hands because I had to serve the One I was addicted to. I have been there and I am still there commit- ted, and sold out to Jesus.

Don’t tell me you have a thankful heart and you come to church once in two weeks. If you have a thankful heart, it will be seen in your commitment. It will be seen in your addiction. It will be seen in your need to satisfy that craving.
I want to get you to the point where if you don’t have a “shot” of Jesus you get into a withdrawal syndrome. I want to get you to the point where you are constantly desirous of experiential fellowship and intimacy with Him. I want to get you to the point where you are so devoted, that you do not care who is looking at you. You may not even be doing it from a depth of revelation.

I remember how some people in our church came in. I know the cars they were driving. The wheel would go this way and the body would go the other way! We did not need to see them to know they were coming. All we needed to do was to listen and we would hear the sound of their cars and we would know! That’s how old and noisy their cars were. They kept on coming to church, hearing the Word of God and Jesus touched them. Today, when they come to church, we no longer know, because their cars move like airplanes. For some of them, the unfortunate thing is that the time when their cars used to alert us of their coming, they used to come to church three times a week for all the services, but now, they only come when their business appointments allow them to come: just once a month. They have forgotten what God did for them.

Confession:
I am sold out to Jesus. My thankful heart is seen in my commitment to Jesus. I remain fully committed to Him.
