A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN’T BE ALARMED

27 Does the eagle mount up at your command, and make its nest on high?
28 On the rock it dwells and resides, on the crag of the rock and the stronghold.
29 From there it spies out the prey; its eyes observe from afar.

Job 39:27-29

Remain conscious of the truth that you are in a place where you cannot be suddenly alarmed. You are in a place where you cannot be surprised. David said, “Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war may rise against me, in this will I be confident” (Psalm 27:3). The word “confident” means to be careless, to feel safe, and to be bold. It describes the status of a city that is certain of not being attacked and where there is an absence of impending doom. The spirit of fear is always trying to give you the sense of impending doom. For instance, it suggests to you that an accident is about to happen. However, because you are in a fortress fully secured by the covenant, you can be confident.

Think about this. Before an attacker can get to someone in a fortress, he will have to pass through the double fence, the dogs, the barbed wires, (maybe even the lions!), and so on. The person living in the fortress is not going to be suddenly alarmed because he will be alerted that someone is about to break in and he has time to call for help. In certain countries, the alerting security gadgets are connected to the police so before the thief can break in and steal from such a house the police will arrive to foil the attack. What happened was that the element of surprise was taken care of. Anything the enemy tries to do is no surprise to your covenant because Jesus took care of it already on the cross at Calvary!

Confession:
I live in a fortress fully secured by the covenant. I will always be confident. There is no surprise that the enemy wants to pull out that Christ did not take care of at Calvary.
