3 If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree falls to the south or the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie.
Ecclesiastes 11:3
This verse says you will find a fallen tree lying in the direction to which it fell. A fallen tree will lie in the direction that it fell provided it is not interrupted by an external force. That is a natural law. What this simply means is that tomorrow, is guaranteed for those who will recognize that natural laws are powerful. Those who respect natural laws will get the results of natural laws, and those who violate them will get the results of such violations: there is no respect of persons.
Natural laws are powerful because God sets them in place. You cannot violate natural laws and go scot-free. A particularly amiable sister often gets every- one laughing when she talks about “casting out calories,” after she has eaten lots of sweet, fattening foods and drank soft drinks, to her heart’s content! Unfortunately calories cannot be cast out like demons; what you put in your mouth is what you will see on your body tomorrow. That is a natural law.
Therefore, if you want your tomorrow to be guaranteed, you must obey natural laws.
The law of gravity was on the earth even while Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden. When they did not know about gravity, it was in existence. When nothing was known about electricity, electricity was in existence. There is a natural law called “sowing and reaping” and every farmer knows that if they sow some seeds during the sowing period, during the harvest period they will have a bountiful harvest. All around you this law is in operation – even in your breathing. God has ordained that we can only live by inhaling and exhaling. Even the most powerful man on earth cannot live by inhaling alone. Surprisingly, that is how some people live their lives! They want to violate natural laws. They just keep accumulating: they get all they can, and can all they get, and sit on the can! Such selfishness violates natural laws.
Confession:
Natural laws are powerful because God put them in place. I will respect natural laws and will not willfully violate them.
