MY TESTIMONY ON HOW TO TAKE CHARGE

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Revelation 12:11

Let me share a testimony that will show you how to take charge of a situation and walk into the favour of God.

I was supposed to go on a vacation. As usual, I went to the American Embassy to get my visa because it had expired. I usually get it every two years. I went as routine because I had been getting visas since 1992. I expected that after 14 years there shouldn’t be any big deal in getting a visa. My family was poised and ready to go on holiday. Before this time, there had been this rumour going around, that there was an unwritten policy now in the American Embassy that if you had children in America you would not be given a visa. The stories said that some men were getting rejected because their wives had babies in America! (It is not a crime to have babies in another country; it’s only a crime if you don’t pay your bills).

The story was that the American Government had had enough of that and they were going to “target” Nigerians, just assuming that everybody is the same. Of course, I wasn’t in that category. We paid every single bill for our children’s births. To cut a long story short, when I got to the counter, the lady immigration officer after looking through my application forms, promptly refused to give me a visa, returned my passport and gave me a standard letter saying that my visa application was refused because I didn’t show that I had enough money to pay. This had never happened to me before. Of course, I had more than sufficient funds and an impeccable travel record but this obviously was not the real issue. The issue must have been as rumoured – about having babies in their country. It was also stated at the bottom not to bother appealing but to come back a second time only if your status had changed.

I came back home and didn’t talk about it with anyone, except Pastor Charles and my husband. I did something. I did what I have been sharing with you these past few days. That was the end of it.

Confession:
By faith I am in charge of every situation and I walk in the favour of God.
