105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:105

The Word of God is light. As light, it will give you illumination and revelation in different areas of your life. God’s Word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. As a lamp to your feet, it gives you illumination to solve your immediate problems: the everyday problems that come your way. As light to your path, it gives you illumination to be able to see afar into the things that God has in store for you, no matter how far away they seem to be from your present day experience. You don’t have to be confused about your life, neither do you have to live all your days, not knowing what to do.

The Word will give you direction and show you the way to go. You don’t have to be in a dilemma about which way to go, when you come to certain crossroads in your life. Enough of Christians, who do not have a sense of direction, who stumble around in darkness making trial and error decisions!

The Word is there to give you direction. The Word brings progress, development and advancement. When you move in the right direction, you will make progress. John 1:4 says, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” The second part of the verse literally translates, “the life was the development of men.” As light, the Word will make you; it will advance you. I am a living testimony of this. With a background of deep poverty and rigid religion, I would have been backward and lost in every kind of darkness imaginable. Thank God I found the Word of God. The Word of God is light.

Confession:

God’s Word is lamp and light unto me. Through His Word I have illumination to solve everyday situations and I can see afar off into the great and glorious future He has for me. His Word is my development and advancement.
