I Really Saw God’s Hand In My Life

My testimony is about the healing power of God in my life. It all started sometime in September, last year. I was at my mum’s shop when I started feeling an unusual pain in my stomach region. It was quite unserious when it started, but suddenly the pain kept increasing every minute. I took drugs but it was all to no avail, it only made the pains get worse.

I could not eat anything because I totally lost my appetite and threw up whatever I tried eating. The pain was so intense that it made me shed tears very often. The devil tried bringing fear into my heart, I was so confused. My parents kept asking me if I fell or got into a fight, which never took place. I remembered clearly that before the pain started, I bought snacks from the roadside, so I kept asking if I was poisoned or something related like eating expired food.

I was hoping that if I went to bed and woke up the next day, everything would go back to normal, but I couldn’t even sleep at night due to the intense pain. In my heart, I kept declaring God’s Word over my life and never stopped believing that all is well; there is nothing missing, and nothing broken.

After a few days, I was taken to the hospital and a series of tests showed that it was appendicitis and I was to go in for surgery the next day. I was so scared upon hearing that. Afterwards, a medical doctor asked me a series of questions and assured me that the operation would be a fast and easy one. The next day, I was wheeled into the theatre where the surgery would be performed. Before the surgery, I had a sense of calmness and comfort; I wasn’t scared, and funny enough I hadn’t slept for days but the day before the surgery, I slept like a baby.

When it was time for the surgery, I saw only two doctors: a neurosurgeon and one and his assistant. I was given an anesthesia and I couldn’t feel any pain during the process. It was also a quick one. The doctors gave a report saying that there was a mass in my stomach and it blocked the appendix which they were supposed to remove, so they had me stitched up without removing anything. They placed me on antibiotics and blood tonic saying that the antibiotics was to help clear the mass.

Two weeks after I was discharged from the hospital, I looked very thin and lanky because of the antibiotics and I wasn’t eating properly due to loss of appetite. I also noticed that the moment I came back home, I regained my appetite. I came to TCC the next Sunday and people were so happy to see me but they were careful not to touch me carelessly to avoid hurting me. That same day, Pastor Kech asked to see me and my mother. We broke bread and she prayed for me declaring that there is nothing missing and nothing broken.

With some days gone by, the stomach upset started again. I began speaking the Word and making my faith confession over and over. I noticed that when the pain comes, and I mention the name of Jesus, the pain reduces, that’s why whenever I keep repeating the name of Jesus over and over, people around me could tell that I was in pains.

A month after being discharged, I was sent back to the hospital and was told again that I had to have another surgery done, and that it was time to remove the appendix. Five days after being admitted into the hospital, I went in for the second surgery. This time, I was surprised to see six doctors waiting for me at the theatre. Normally, I would have been scared but I wasn’t, they said this time I would be put to sleep and I would wake up right after they were done with the surgery.

While lying on the bed, the doctors were getting ready, setting up all they needed for the surgery. When it was time, I was placed on oxygen and put to sleep. I woke up seeing myself in the children’s surgical ward. I tried to move my neck and realized something was stuck up from my nose to my belly. It had been there since the first day of the second admission, but I was hoping not to see the pipe ever again after the surgery because it gave me much discomfort. The doctors later came with a report telling me that I had nothing to worry about, that they cleaned up the mass they saw during the surgery and removed the appendix. Glory be to God!

Faster than my mouth could tell, I was able to stand and walk. My healing process was very fast and enviable by other patients. This time, I had a full appetite for food and was always hungry. I really saw God’s hand in my life. Before the second week of December, I was fully discharged. As time went on, I got stronger and by January, I went to the university where I was given admission while I was in the hospital.

All praise and thanks to the Almighty God, Who delivered me. I also thank our mummy, Pastor Kech, who monitored every stage of the process, before and after I went in for the second surgery. A big thanks to my friends in the Teen Church who earnestly prayed for me.

Thank you.
