At the end of my final year in university, I was healthy with no sign of sickness; I was just busy preparing for my final exams and project work. However, my course mates kept insisting that there was something wrong with my looks. I always replied that I was fine and that it was just stress of adding the extra time to get my project done. The only thing I knew was a challenge then was my monthly period, which was usually very painful. I prayed about it and knew it was already taken care of by God, so I did not see it as a challenge anymore.
By December 2012, it dawned on me that the stress I was going through was beyond what I thought, so I began to confess God’s Word and listening to Pastor Charles Omofomah’s messages on healing. In June 2013, the changes in my body became very obvious. I lost weight drastically and my stomach began to bulge. I went for a test that showed I had bacterial infection, but after taking the injections to handle it there was no improvement. I became worried and uncomfortable.
My elder sister suggested I go for a scan. The result showed that there was excess fluid in my system. The sonographer told me to start treatment immediately as it was a very delicate situation. I could no longer wear most of my clothes because my stomach was protruding. I kept wearing a particular one that made it not too obvious. I stopped going to school because I felt weak most of the time. I felt very uncomfortable after every meal and could not breathe well nor sit up. So, I had to lie down most of the time. But the situation worsened.
I had an appointment with Pastor Nkechi and she prayed with me, gave me a hug and a very warm smile. She asked me what I wanted and I told her I wanted to live. She placed her hand on my stomach and declared God’s Word over me. I felt relieved immediately and left her office very excited. Prior to that time, during one of his ministrations, Pastor Charles had declared that every weight loss would be restored. With those words of life my pastors had spoken into me, I went to the hospital. The doctor said I should be admitted immediately. They ran series of tests and placed me under observation for one week, after which I went in for a surgery. The fluid was taken out of my system successfully.
I am grateful to God, my family, Pastor Charles and Pastor Nkechi, and church members for their prayers and support. Hallelujah!
