16 Lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.

Hebrews 12:16

Another reason why people eat their reward before their time is because they are profane. Esau was a profane person. A profane person is somebody who does not have respect for holy and sacred things. Profanity should not be found in the Body of Christ. Unfortunately, it is. Many Christians have no regard for sacred things. I trust that you are not that way, in Jesus’ Name.

Sex is a holy thing but it is a frequent subject of profanity among Christians. Hebrews 13:4 says the bed is to be undefiled. The word “bed” is a Greek word koite from where the English word coitus is coined. Coitus literally means sexual intercourse. Sex is defiled when it’s outside of marriage. However, the act of sex is sacred and blessed within the context of marriage.

Some man says, “Come on, the people who wrote the Bible were archaic. We’re in a modern world. I’ve got to know if she’s fertile before I marry her.” For that reason, you go ahead and have premarital sex, and thereafter she really proves to you that she’s fertile. She gets pregnant and you get her to abort the pregnancy. That is unrestrained passion. That is evil and it is ammunition for the Devil, the “accuser of the brethren” to use against you in future.

The tithe is also holy (Leviticus 27:30). Therefore when you receive your income, remove the tenth part (ten percent) because it’s holy unto the Lord. One of the reasons He says for you to bring the tithe is because He will bring fruitful seasons to you. If you decide to spend it on your needs then it shows that you are profane with a lack of respect for holy things.

Confession:
Father, I am holy just as You are holy. That is what Your Word says about me and so that is what I declare. In calm confidence I will continue to live out my righteousness, which is in Christ Jesus. I am as righteous as Jesus is. Amen.
