7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence.
Ephesians 1:7-8
By faith, you access the riches of His grace in the area of direction or guidance. Sometimes we just need to know which way to go. Do you sometimes feel like saying, “God why don’t you just appear to me and tell me to go left or go right, then it will be easier for me?” Sometimes I am tempted to do that, but I realize all too well that direction is among the riches of His grace, and by faith you can access it. I know it is not a luxury to hear from God so I quieten my spirit and listen and get in faith for an answer.
Faith is really all about expectation (Hebrews 11:1). Expect to hear the voice of God. Sometimes the reason why many Christians seem to be in confusion is because they are so afraid of not hearing God’s voice that they end up not hearing God’s voice. Their expectation is that they might hear the wrong voice and make the wrong move. If you are like that, then change your expectation. Begin to expect to hear and be guided by the voice of God.
God is more eager to speak to you than you are to hear Him. So if you can measure the level of your eagerness to hear God and be guided by Him, know that God is a million times more eager to speak than you are to hear. If you are His sheep and you are fellowshipping with Him, you will hear His voice. Fellowship is an important key. When you are familiar with His presence, you will know what He wants you to do; you will know which way He wants you to go. Don’t wait to be faced with life and death decisions before you begin to develop an ear for the voice of God.
Jesus spoke with confidence when He said His sheep hear His voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow (John 10:4, 27). So don’t approach cross- roads in your life any more with fear and concerns as though you will hear the wrong voice. If you are at cross- roads in your life relax, and make the confession of faith that you hear His voice, and you will.
Confession:
Lord, I believe that I hear Your voice and the voice of stranger I will not follow.
