God Provided For Me through a Very Challenging Period

In January 2006, I needed to pay my rent, which was overdue by two months at the time; my job had suddenly stopped without any benefits or pay off and it was evident that my landlord was getting impatient. In order to prevent my landlord from harassing me I decided to borrow N40,000 from a friend to add to the N30,000 I had home and abroad as 50% of my rent to give to my landlord as a part-payment.

That year Discovering Treasures was fast approaching. I went to God in prayers to direct me to a seed as I desired to give an offering to the guest minister for that year. I didn’t get an answer until Saturday night, after the second day of the programme. Shockingly, God told me that the N30,000.00 I had set aside to offset my rent was my seed. This was a hard thing to believe and obey. I struggled with this thought because of my present accommodation issues and the plans I had. However, I eventually obeyed knowing that this was an unusual instruction to me from Jehovah Jireh. Immediately I got home, I prayed and thanked God over it, put in my bag ready for service on Sunday.

By 4:00 a.m. on Sunday morning I got a call, the caller said that he learnt that my rent had expired. He went on further to inform me that my rent that year would be taken care of and in addition, until I got a stable financial support and source of income, the gesture would continue. I was beyond overjoyed. It was humbling to know that God had answered me even before I had actually given out the money as He instructed me to. This great move of Jehovah Jireh in my life lasted for about 2 years and 6 months, during which my rent increased from N135,000.00 to N160,000.00 and finally to N200,000.00. Isn’t it amazing that before I even had the opportunity to put the offering in the offering in the basket God had gone ahead of me? I received a great harvest of over 400% increase on the money God asked me to sow.

As a tip of the iceberg the person I borrowed the N40,000.00 from sowed N20,000.00 into my life. God is awesome; He came through for me, providing for me all through that period of my life. Our pastors indeed are fertile grounds and truly the prophets of God. Like Pastor Charles Omofomah would say, “When what you have is not enough for a harvest make it a seed”

I praise and thank God for His mercies and grace.
