God Is Ever Merciful

I noticed that my menstrual cycle came twice in January 2012 and because I was bothered about it, I went for a pregnancy test without running a scan. Before this time, I was trusting God for another child, so it did not come as a surprise to me when the result came out positive. I concluded that my spotting blood was the same way I had spotted during my previous pregnancy. I took some medications and paid no further attention to the matter.

On the 27th of January, I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen but I associated it to early pregnancy changes. I suspected nothing because the pain subsided after a while. However, I started praying and confessing the Word of God. I had learnt what to do in the face of any challenge before going to see a doctor. I had found out that the negative medical diagnosis concerning my ability to have a child earlier had failed as I later had a child.

Whilst preparing to go home at close of work on the 16th of February, I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen again. This time, it was rather severe and it came at intervals. With each jab came weakness. I was gradually passing out. I struggled to grab my phone and I called my husband and the driver. At a point, I became very weak and couldn’t talk or walk. The driver got the security man to help him carry me into the car and then to the hospital.

After examining me, the gynecologist said he suspected that I had ectopic pregnancy, and referred me to another hospital for a scan. The scan confirmed that I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, and showed that I was bleeding inside. That night, I was quickly operated upon and I thank God for a successful surgery.

I want to thank God because in spite of my ignorance and negligence, God went ahead of the Devil, saved and kept me because of His mercy. People who heard of it were amazed because they kept recounting how many people had died from similar situations. I thank God because it was not my time to die and I know I will walk to my grave in a good old age as the Word of God has promised.
