God Has Just Been Blessing

I thank God for the gift of TCC. On relocating to Port Harcourt, I asked God to direct me to a church and He chose TCC for me, after looking up the meeting days online I attended my first meeting on January 8, 2013, a prayer meeting. It was my birthday and He gave me words that would go ahead to define the year for me. January 10th was my first Thursday Service and from that day when Pastor Sola taught Persuaded of Better Things, I loved him and knew I was home.

Every meeting leaves me refreshed and better and that is a testimony for me. An example is the Walking from Shortage to Surplus series by Pastor Nkechi which began in November 2014. That series like all others was taught just for me; it came at the exact point where God was teaching me how to go from little to more than enough. By applying the principles taught in that series, I am making a conscious effort to stop looking at circumstances, income and man and to focus on what Jesus’ blood has made available. I increased my budget pledge 10 times what I gave last year even though my income was the same. I gave the equivalent of what I got for a month last year so it meant I was to give God the equivalent of 10 months’ income as at that point. My brain was laughing and doing all the math to show me how impossible it was to give my tithe and the equivalent of 10 months’ income and live on what was left, but I kept declaring God’s Word. It was what He laid in my heart to give and I surely would. I began fulfilling the pledge and consequently:

After just a few days from the first part of that series, a friend walked up to me without me asking (no application, no interview) and offered me a job that gives me as basic, four times what I used to get per month before then.

My elder sister’s friend offered her, her clean SUV which she had bought brand new, at a giveaway price. My sister didn’t need the car but she said it was laid in her heart to buy it, give it to my dad, collect the 2001 corolla he was using and give that to me in clean condition as a gift. The car is available for me to go pick up shortly.

She said there was a big generator she had in her heart to give me all these months but she had been rationalizing that the amount it would cost her to transport it from Lagos to Port Harcourt was too much. She made up her mind then to send it home for me to pick alongside the car.

On November 22nd I had just 12,000 Naira in my account and God’s Spirit prompted me to give 10,000 Naira from it towards fulfilling my pledge. 23rd Sunday morning I told myself that no matter what, I would drop that money that day. I went to two bank ATMs, one of which was my bank’s they were not issuing cash. I was tempted to postpone it but I rejected that. At a third bank after going through a long queue, I finally got the cash and came to church. Barely 3 minutes after I dropped the money in the basket, I got a call. (The phone was on but on silent. I noticed the call because I was using the online bible at that point while the praise team was just getting on the altar). It was my elder sister so I contacted her after church. She said she would love me to go online and look for a school abroad where I can do a diploma in any field of interest.

Now, all of these would sound normal if my elder sister used to do these things normally. I have an elder brother, she didn’t think of giving him the car or generator, she thought to give them to me. She could have as well given the car to my mother. She didn’t think my elder one or any of my younger ones should go to get training abroad, she thought of me. Up until this point, we had never discussed the issue of me going to school or a car. Not that she is a wicked person; far from it! But the things happening now are not the usual. The amazing part is God has just been blessing me with exceedingly, abundantly above the things I am asking or thinking according to the power at work within me.
