23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.
24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

Matthew 4:23-24

Everyone I know goes for gold. It is rare to see an athlete who deliberately settles for silver or bronze throughout the length of his or her career and never aims for the best. The athletes may start out in any sport by getting excited at winning a bronze or silver but after several years in the sport, if they show no interest in gold, no one will take them seriously. Their names will never come up in the limelight if they are continually “second best” or “third best.”

In your walk with God, I want you to have God’s best for your life concerning your healing and health. The Word of God is the best Healer that never fails you. I am not saying that it is a sin to go to the hospital, nor am I saying that if you wish to study medicine, you are out of the will of God. Definitely not! Luke was a contributor to the New Testament but he was a physician by profession. You are not a failure in the sight of God if you went to a doctor yesterday but if I were you, I would strive for gold. I would want to know the best because if I make up my mind to stick with “second best” only, there are some diseases that “second best” cannot heal.

We read that Jesus healed all kinds of sickness, all kinds of diseases and everyone. It means that so far, Jesus has been the only Doctor or Physician with a hundred percent success rating. If you know a doctor that has never lost the battle against sickness with a patient, I would like to meet him and find out if the Messiah has come again. I don’t know about you, but I have made up my mind to learn all I need to in order to experience the best. Why settle for second best?
