1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1
Faith pays attention to the truth of God’s Word. Faith pays attention to what it is standing as evidence for.
Think of this. Somebody is killed, brutally murdered in cold blood. When people get to the murder scene they see the body. They take a closer look and they find bullet holes in it. There is no other apparent external wound or injury on the body but the bullet holes. In order to find out the murderer, the police see two guns and a dagger. The person obviously died of gunshot wounds. They are likely to ignore the dagger since it doesn’t help what they are trying to find out. They would take the dagger to check for fingerprints to find out who was at the scene of the crime, but all the fingerprints on the dagger don’t tell them who killed the person. They focus on the gun, knowing that the person died as a result of gunshot wounds.
When what you see doesn’t stand as evidence for what you are trusting God for, ignore it. It is useless; it is hopeless; it is not helping your case. Your case is established in the Word of God. If the report of your five senses does not help to establish the truth of that case as reported by the Word, then ignore it. Don’t bother lying about it, just ignore it. Instead focus on what you are standing on as evidence. Your faith is all the evidence you need. Y our faith will attract the change you desire.
Confession:
Lord, I live by faith. My eyes are open to evidence that agrees with Your Word. My eyes are open to the report of Your Word.
