1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Hebrews 11:1-3
There is no inventor or manufacturer of a product who will not first of all try that product before releasing it to the market for consumers to buy. For example, when Daimler brings out a new model of Mercedes Benz car, they take it to their testing bay for all kinds of tests. They subject it to huge impact from external forces, they turn it upside down, they drive it in all kinds of simulated weather, and they drive it up and down slopes at top speeds: they perform every imaginable and unimaginable test on it. Why? They want to make sure that it works before they release it to the market.
Similarly when a new kind of medicine which is meant to cure some kind of sickness or disease is invented, it is first tried on rats, cats, hamsters etc, and then they eventually try it on human beings before they declare that the medicine works. If you take the medicine before it has been tried and tested there is a possibility that it could fail and possibly do some harm to the end users.
The God-kind of faith you are developing in your life today has been tried and tested and it passed all the tests. We read in Hebrews 11:1-3 that not only the saints of old, but also God Himself tried it out. Before He released it to mankind, it worked for Him. In the midst of darkness He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:3). The ages were formed and framed by the Word of God. He spoke them all by faith. If faith didn’t work for God, He had no business expecting it to work for you. Noah used it and it worked; Abraham used it and it worked; Isaac used it and it worked; Jacob, Joseph, Rahab, Samson, David all used it and it worked for them. The faith God has given to you has been tried and tested!
Confession:
Father, I am grateful that the faith I have from You passed all the tests before You gave it to me for daily use. Therefore come what may, the faith I have received from You will work and victory will always be sure.
