CREATING SEASONS BY GOD’S SPIRIT

21 So it was, when the cloud remained only from evening until morning: when the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they would journey; whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud was taken up, they would journey.
22 Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud remained above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would remain encamped and not journey; but when it was taken up, they would journey.

Numbers 9:21-22

Following God’s Spirit creates seasons in your life. A season is a period, a time or a term.

When the cloud was above the tabernacle for a few days, it was time for the children of Israel to stay. They did not move when the weather was good or bad; they did not move because they were hungry; they did not even move because they were tired. They only moved when the cloud moved and stayed when it stayed. They did not know when the cloud was going to leave or move. Sometimes the cloud would stay above the tabernacle for two days and they would stay. Sometimes it would stay above the tabernacle for one year, sometimes for two years, and that was the season of sitting and not moving. Some other time, it could stay for just two days and then the very next day , unannounced, the cloud could decide to move, and there was no point getting angry with God saying, “We just pitched our tents.” No, the cloud moved so they got their things and started moving.

Seasons are created by following the Spirit. You may be saying, “Lord, why are you not speaking to me? It has been two days. I expect you to speak Lord,” but He is not saying anything. Or at another time, “Lord, why don’t you keep quiet?” This time, He just keeps on talking! You know sometimes you would just rather be left alone, but then He starts telling you to do certain things. You can’t turn Him off and on like a faucet. You just follow Him by faith and stay in His Word.
I remember the time I knew I was called into fulltime ministry; I knew it in my heart. Yet I travelled to my parent’s home in Abuja, Nigeria, then, to “hear from God.” That was probably the most silent God has ever been with me! He had already spoken to my heart.

Confession:

I move with God. When He moves, I move. As I move with God, beautiful seasons are created in my life.
