2 Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
We had a big vision for a multinational, purely indigenous, company that would break barriers that had never been dreamt of by any other company – indigenous or international. It was a bold vision. It was a crazy vision. It was a vision from God.
We soon found out that there was a lot to endure in order to see it come to pass. This was before God called me into the ministry and I went full-time into it. Together, we started our company purely by faith. We rented a warehouse by faith. We had no money and the landlord was so consumed by the favour of God that he turned down prospective tenants who had cash to pay and he waited for us to pay him in trickles over a period of several months.
We won contracts by faith. We went to the United States on the cheapest flight available to buy equipment without any money. Yes, you read right, we had no money – we only had faith and a crazy dream. We were propelled by our dream. The supplier, a blessed elderly Caucasian American man, fell in love with this daring young couple and offered us jobs to work for him in the USA. Our dream was greater than that opportunity. Not every lucrative opportunity is from God. We politely turned down his offer and requested for equipment to kick off our company. He trusted us and gave us the equipment, worth hundreds of thousands of US Dollars (in 1993!) to go back home with and pay later – which we did. We got the equipment by God’s favour. That is faith.
Do you have a God-given vision for business or ministry? Then focus on it. Jesus endured the cross because He was focused on the joy that was set before Him. You have what it takes.
Confession: Lord, I thank You for my dream. As I focus on it, it will become clearer and clearer and I will see it through Your eye. I will not only find it and focus on it, but I will follow it and fulfil it, in Jesus’ Name.
