God’s Word is Medicine

22 For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.
Proverbs 4:22

God’s Word is truth (John 17:17). Truth is the highest form of reality that exists. Therefore, faith in the truth of God’s Word is reality. The reality of the truth of God’s Word is more real than what you feel in your body. You say, “But I’m feeling it.” That’s a fact from your senses, but there is a truth that is higher than that. Someone says, “But the doctor’s report says in my family we have this hereditary disease.” That’s a fact from the doctor but there is a truth that is higher than that. Just like medicine, that truth has to be applied with principles; otherwise the lower forms of reality, will take hold in your life.

You need to develop a lifestyle of living in divine health and learn to trust God to heal you of simple headaches or menstrual cramps, rather than popping pills at the first sign of such ailments. There is no problem if that is where you are now, but you have to grow beyond that. If the doctor diagnoses you with something serious, you would be in a better position to stand in faith and declare God’s Word, if you had made practice of doing it in the past. Otherwise, you would still be better off praying that God will work through the drugs that have been prescribed for you, or that God will guide the hands of the surgeon as he operates, rather than declaring that you will not take the drugs or have the surgery, if you had not been living by the principles of divine health. Remember, divine healing is not magic.

Settle down and understand the Word of God on divine healing and begin to practice the principles of divine healing listed in Proverbs 4:20-22:
1. My son, give attention to my words (the words of life).
2. Incline your ear to my sayings (the sayings of life).
3. Do not let them (the sayings of life) depart from your eyes.
4. Keep them in the midst of your heart (meditate on the Word of life continually).
5. For they (the words of life which you’ve kept before your ears and eyes, and in your heart and mouth) are life to those who find them, and health (medicine, healing) to all their flesh.

Confession: God’s Word is life to me, and health to all my flesh.
