16 Lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.
17 For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.
Hebrews 12:16-17

In the last few days, we have clearly established that Jacob was a tomorrow thinker but Esau clearly was not. That was why Esau ate the pottage and the Bible says that he despised his birthright. Later in the book of Hebrews, God describes Esau as a profane person! That’s a really strong word. Remember that a profane person is somebody who doesn’t have respect for sacred things.

If you are not a tomorrow thinker, you are not likely to have respect for sacred things. Profane people disregard holy things. Things such as their birthright, their identity, sex, tithes etc. Profanity is as such, that person’s god.

It is unfortunate to see some born again children of God deep in profanity in their lifestyles. Don’t just go to church and become an expression of powerless religion. Yes, it’s good to go to church, it’s good to pray and praise God, its good to celebrate God, but be a tomorrow thinker, too! Have a healthy respect for holy things. God is a holy God and He is a tomorrow thinker.

Do you know that time is a sacred and holy thing? Why do you think God is the Ruler of the universe? He sees beyond today and is not limited by time. He lives out of time and sees the end of a matter from the beginning. If you bless a man who is not a tomorrow thinker with five million Naira, he will say, “What am I going to do with all of this?” However, if you give a tomorrow thinker five million US Dollars, he sees the end of the matter at that moment and he already has a wise plan to invest all of it, in line with God’s purpose.

Confession: I have a deep reverence for sacred things. I invest my life, my time, my money – all the resources God has placed within my hands in accordance with God’s purpose.
