16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
The Word of God saves. It does not rule out anybody. It is clearly written that the gospel, the good news, is the power of God unto salvation. The Word of God has power to save from sin, to heal your body, to deliver you from oppres- sion, and to provide for you. It has the power to give you the whole salvation package. Friend, believe the Word of God. The Word of God is not an academic textbook. It is a problem-solving book. It is a book of solutions.
Sometimes past sins condemn you and limit your ability to walk wholly in the salvation that the Word of God has pro- vided for you. When Jesus asked the woman caught in the act of adultery for her accusers, she could not find them. Jesus said, “…Neither do I condemn you…” (John 8:11). Praise God, you are also not condemned. Whoever you may be, the Word of God can bring you out of the lowest pit and put you upon the throne. As many as come to Him for help, will be saved. You will see something new and beautiful in your life. Do not look at yourself and say, “I am no good; there is nothing good that can come out of me.” The good news is that where sin abounds, grace abounds much more (Romans 5:20).
There are certain people who you see today as Christians and you will not imagine that they were once hard hearted criminals. God saved them and He has changed them. It doesn’t matter what a person has done, they can be saved. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoso- ever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). No sinner should ever be written off. While I was in the university, all the beauty queens on campus got saved through the ministry of my friends and me. Every other fellowship on campus had written them off. Today, most of those “beauty queens” are married and are serving the Lord faithfully.
Confession: There is saving power in the Word of God.
