8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.
Think only on those things you want to experience. When you recognize any- thing that is not from God, don’t even meditate on it. Why is it that the people who are most afraid of dying by poisoning, more often than not actually get poisoned? Why is it that those who are always binding blood sucking demons and all kinds of witchcraft on the road before they travel, are the ones who are more often involved in road accidents?
I once heard a story of a man who went to the hospital with some mild symptoms. He was diagnosed as having some serious medical condition. He went home and became really sick and began to exhibit the symptoms of the medical condition that he had been diagnosed with. He must have spent a lot of time thinking about the condition and probably did more research on the condition. Well, the story goes that some time later, the hospital called, full of apologies – there had been a misdiagnosis and the man had been given someone else’s result. His result was perfect, giving him a clean bill of health. Well, I am sure you can guess what happened to him. His thoughts of his serious medical condition and possibly death stopped as soon as he received the phone call. The symptoms began to disappear until he was perfectly well.
Friend, there are so many lessons to learn from this story. For now, let me just summarize it this way: step into your covenant and walk confidently in your covenant and refuse to meditate on anything other than the words of your covenant. Don’t meditate on any- thing other than what God has to say concerning you. If the thought bomb from the spirit of fear comes, recognize that fear is trying to gain access to your life through your mind. Seal your eye and ear gates and refuse to let those things in.
Confession: I boldly step into what is mine through the covenant. I experience what is mine through the covenant. I refuse to meditate on anything other than the words of the covenant.
